The Kidz Field is the place to be for 12‘s and under at Glastonbury. We are open 12pm – 7pm on Thursday and 9am – 7pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Detailed timings for the different shows will be listed on blackboards around the field each day.
We don’t list times for performances in The Kidz Field as we have so many different venues and things going on all over and the idea is that families come to play rather than just head for a particular performance. So we encourage you to move around and discover all the various delights.
Glastonbury Festival observes the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 31 “The right of the child to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities and to participate FREELY in cultural life and the arts.”
It is for this reason that ALL children of 12 and under enter the Festival for free.
It’s 2014 and it’s 20 years since Tony created The Kidz Field and put together the fantastic team of Imagineers and Play Workers that build the dream. Over those two decades, Tony and the team have entertained, amazed and inspired tens of thousands of Kidz and spread the message of kindness, wonder and awe that is at the heart of The Kidz Field, far and wide.
In our 20th year, we have worked harder than ever to bring the Glastonbury kidz and families a fantastic and memorable experience. As always, we’re sending out Peace & Love and the values of openness and acceptance, willingness to experience things and a delight in sharing our lives with the myriad people of the World.
We create an organic wonderland in the Kidz Field, there are hundreds of things to do and children must be accompanied at all times, so that parents get to share the experience. Kidz arrive in The Kidz Field and go from the Big Top to the Make and Do, climb on the castle, learn a Circus skill, listen to a story, bang on a drum, climb the rock wall, watch a puppet show and whizz round the Helter Skelter. Then they leave with a painted face, holding something they’ve created with a broad smile and memories to last a lifetime.

Re-Play Music is the biggest stringed instrument recycling project in the UK. Running for over 15 years and having taken 2 Music Industry Awards for Environmental Initiative and Sustainability (sponsored by NAMM, MIA and Classic FM). Our first Music workshop started at Glastonbury Kidz Field 10 years ago. Disregarded instruments are Re-cycled and Re-paired, so they can Re-turn to Kidz Field where they get Re-played by 100’s of kids each year!! We are dedicated to the idea that Music is made to share, just like the instruments you can try in the Tent, where it all began!!! Check the Re-play Music Website to more about their great work.

The idea behind Rainbow Shakespeare is to produce accessible interactive theatre that all the family could enjoy. Children take part in the production and performance of the show.
We were never told Shakespeare was “difficult”, he just tells a good story – fights, murder, love … what more could an audience or an actor want! Shakespeare does not need gimmicks or weird interpretations to make the plays accessible to modern audiences.
The plays speak for themselves and no two performances are the same. That is where live-theatre can win hands down over film or television.
